I don't understand the positive reviews
I was excited to use this because I tend to pause and ramble and have very long dictated segments that most programs will just cut off. Amical supposedly doesn't do that, yet it cuts me off way faster than Claude does (which is why I was most excited to use it -- to avoid that "oh no, I've been talking for 5 minutes and Claude stopped listening a while ago" problem). I put in a chat and a support email about this over two weeks ago and still have gotten zero response. So as is, this tool is completely unusable for me.
Then today, it started popping up over my working windows on its own. I'd close it, it'd reopen. And then again right after that. Then after a few more minutes, it would pop up again, taking focus away from whatever I was working on. I uninstalled it. Not worth the stress for me.

I tried to look into the issue you described and searched for any support tickets related to it, including tickets with an email containing “davincikittie”, but I was not able to find anything on our end. We apologize if we missed your support request.
Regarding the dictation stopping: currently, Amical has a 6-minute dictation limit. After 5 minutes, we show a persistent notification letting you know that dictation will automatically stop in another minute. As a side note, we do plan to increase this limit in the coming weeks.
If you were getting cut off much earlier, for example after only a few seconds, that was most likely caused by software on your system injecting keystrokes. Tools like AutoHotkey, PowerToys, password managers, and similar utilities can sometimes trigger this behavior depending on the configured shortcuts. We addressed this in an update around two weeks ago by filtering out and ignoring injected key events.
Regarding the app closing and reopening: the main case where this can happen is when an update is applied in the background, followed by an automatic restart, which may cause the app to refocus.
