Disappointing and heavily paywalled for an LTD
I don’t usually leave 1-star reviews, but I feel compelled to share this because my experience with Arvow has been genuinely disappointing.
I’ve bought 200+ tools on AppSumo over the years, so I’m very familiar with how lifetime deals usually work. Limitations are expected, but the core value of the product should still be usable without immediately being pushed into a subscription.
After purchasing Tier-4, I logged in and quickly realized that most of the features that actually make Arvow appealing are locked behind upgrade prompts. I reached out to support to understand what was included, and they confirmed the AppSumo deal only covers manual features like writing articles, editing, and creating templates.
Key features such as AutoBlog, integrations (WordPress, Webflow, Shopify), the knowledge base, and the site optimizer are all subscription-only. Unfortunately, those are the exact features that differentiate this tool from many cheaper alternatives.
The result is that the LTD feels more like a restricted version or teaser than a complete product. You can use it manually, but that’s not where the real value of the platform seems to be.
I asked if there was any way to get short-term access to the automation features just to properly evaluate the full workflow before considering an upgrade. The answer was no, instead, I was encouraged to subscribe and offered bonus credits and an onboarding call. That doesn’t really solve the issue for someone who bought a lifetime deal expecting meaningful access from day one.
Overall, this has been one of my most disappointing AppSumo purchases. The listing gave the impression that the tool would be far more usable than it actually is under the LTD. Unless the limitations are made extremely clear upfront, I think many buyers will feel misled.

1. “Most key features are locked behind a subscription”
The AppSumo lifetime deal is intentionally scoped to manual content creation features: writing articles, editing, SEO structuring, and creating reusable templates. Automation features (AutoBlog, CMS integrations, Site Optimizer, Knowledge Base) are part of our subscription plans, and this distinction is outlined on the AppSumo listing and pricing breakdown.
2. Why automation isn’t included in the LTD
Automated publishing, crawling, syncing with CMSs, and site-wide optimization create ongoing infrastructure and API costs on our side. For long-term sustainability, these features cannot be offered as lifetime access. This is a common structure across automation-heavy SaaS products on AppSumo.
3. “The LTD feels like a teaser rather than a full product”
The LTD is designed to provide full access to Arvow’s core writing and optimization engine, not a trial. Many users actively use Arvow in manual mode for content production without automation. That said, we understand that for some users, automation is the primary value driver - and in those cases, the LTD may simply not be the right fit.
3. Short-term access to automation for evaluation
At the time of your request, we didn’t have a temporary unlock mechanism in place. Instead, we offered bonus credits and onboarding support to help evaluate whether an upgrade would make sense. We agree this feedback is valid and are actively reviewing better ways to let LTD users experience automation before committing.
4. Clarity of limitations
We take this feedback seriously. We’re continuously improving how clearly the AppSumo page communicates what is and is not included, to ensure expectations are aligned before purchase.
I genuinely appreciate you sharing your experience. While Arvow may not have been the right fit for your use case under the LTD, your feedback helps us improve both the product and how we communicate it.
