[UPDATED] Credits : ok for AI-powered actions, but not to send an email.
[EDIT] Thanks a lot for "We're focused on business users who need security, compliance, and reliability – not hobbyists looking for the absolute cheapest option.". Believe me or not, I'm not a hobbyist looking for the absolute cheapest option. You say Tier5 comes with 12k credits, aka 6k emails or 6k API calls. Hobbyist would maybe use Diaflow to send 6k emails per month, but I would recommand them to use their Gmail, instead. I'm a power user, automation expert, and with Tier5 any serious workflow using AI would consume min 50 credits, and up to 200 credits or more if your workflow is massively AI powered. So up to you guys, but there are lot of alternatives with better cost balance between AI-powered nodes and non-AI-powered nodes.
I have refunded, obviously. Before spending all credits for nothing, consider this as a thank you for being a hobbyist.
------
Diaflow is a great product, no doubt about it. The interface is polished, the UX is solid, and it clearly feels like a mature tool. Overall, working with it is genuinely enjoyable.
I also agree that AI has a cost, and allocating credits for AI, especially with BYOK, ,makes sense. That’s fine, and honestly, completely normal. But then: 2 credits just to send an email? 2 credits for a web request (IFTTT, etc.)? 2 credits for so many other basic actions? At that rate, it’s simply not usable, it’s not efficient at all.
AI costs have reduced, and since they can be unpredictable, paying via BYOK is understandable (and even normal, as said before). But other resources, storage aside, for example, don’t realistically cost “2 credits” every single time they’re used.
It’s a shame, because this pricing model is likely going to push me to try Diaflow for a bit and then request a refund. If you build any kind of complex workflow, even without AI, or while using BYOK, you’ll hit limits very quickly. I know I can buy credit packs, but I’m not going to do that just to send emails and update a Google Sheet.

Feb 14, 2026Hi Robert,
Thank you for the thoughtful feedback and for recognizing the effort we've put into building a polished, mature product. We really appreciate you taking the time to share your perspective.
I'd like to address your concerns about our credit pricing, particularly for third-party API calls like sending emails or making web requests:
When you compare Diaflow to competitors like Zapier, Make, or n8n, our pricing is actually quite competitive. Here's what's happening behind the scenes:
- Real Infrastructure Costs: Every third-party API call (email, webhook, Google Sheets update, etc.) goes through our secure servers, not directly from your machine. This means we're handling:
- Data transfer and bandwidth costs
- Server processing and compute resources
- Secure API key management and encryption
- Rate limiting and queue management
- Error handling and retry logic
- Compliance and security monitoring (SOC 2, GDPR, etc.)
Business-Grade Security & Reliability: Unlike some competitors who pass API calls directly through (which can expose credentials and create security vulnerabilities), we route everything through our infrastructure to ensure:
- Your API keys are never exposed in client-side code
- All data transfers are encrypted and logged for compliance
- Enterprise-grade uptime and redundancy
- Audit trails for business workflows
Competitive Pricing Comparison:
- Zapier charges per task (every action = 1 task), with plans starting at $19.99/mo for 750 tasks
Make charges per operation, with similar pricing tiers
- Diaflow Tier 5 gives you 12,000 monthly credits lifetime for $999 – that's over 6,000 email sends or API calls every month with no monthly fees ever
Even basic workflows on other platforms quickly add up to $50-100/month in recurring costs. Our lifetime deal eliminates that entirely.
We're focused on business users who need security, compliance, and reliability – not hobbyists looking for the absolute cheapest option. Every credit consumed represents real server costs we incur to provide enterprise-grade infrastructure.
That said, we're always listening to feedback and evaluating our pricing model. If your use case involves extremely high-volume, low-complexity workflows, you might find better value with platforms that sacrifice security for lower per-action costs.
Diaflow is built for businesses that value security, reliability, and long-term cost predictability over rock-bottom per-action pricing.
Feel free to reach out if you'd like to discuss your specific workflow – we might be able to suggest optimizations that reduce credit consumption.
