Strong Topaz alternative that is almost there

I picked this up a while ago and have been putting it through its paces, so here is my honest take.

The upscaling itself is excellent. When it runs properly, the output quality sits right up there with Topaz and the other premium upscalers I have tried. Clean, sharp, no weird artifacts.

Getting results like that at this price feels like a steal, and I think paying hundreds for the big-name upscalers is money down the drain when something like this exists.

There are a few things holding it back from five stars though. The sizing options are limited to 200% and 400%. I get it, this is still an MVP and upscaling is heavy on GPU resources, so I understand why more options are not there yet. But a couple of extra steps in between would make a real difference.

Then there is stability. When I upscale a single image (I have not tried batch upscaling yet), it sometimes takes a very long time, and every now and then it just stalls at zero and does nothing at all, which forces me to restart. Tightening up the reliability and processing speed would take this tool to another level.

The amount of ads is also a bit much. I understand the developer needs to fund the project, so I will not make a big deal of it for now, but somewhere down the line it could become a sticking point. The interface has room to grow too, and I am sure that will come with time.

Overall this is a really good tool and I can see it becoming something special. I am giving it four stars purely because of the long processing times I've experienced. Fix those things and you have a five-star product on your hands. I am rooting for it and hope the developer takes this feedback on board.
