Can we get the importing our own documents process smoother, smarter and more automated? I tested a small book that had a title, sub title heading, intro and some chapters and a final thoughts section at the end. The import process wasn't painless. It created the intro section as a chapter instead of intelligently pulling that info into your introduction section editor. My chapters that said...

A: Thanks, this is genuinely useful feedback. For now you can tidy those in the editor: move the intro text into the Introduction section, set your title in the project title field, and delete the stray title/subtitle chapters. A smarter, more automated import is exactly the direction we're heading, and glad the formatting itself landed well!
Q: Why does it still need so much clean up on the backend export.
You still cannot simply just export into KDP.. send me the contact email again. I did a lot of things on the export that I did not expect. Either way I got my book into KDP but it was not without some serious work on my part.

A: Hi, We don’t advertise direct to KDP integration, reason being is that Amazon don’t offer an API for this. Only Gumroad and Etsy have direct publishing ability from Inkfluence. Our KDP export option can be uploaded directly to KDP via your KDP account, it has been built in line with their margin and print requirements. Any issues please let us know at [email protected], or use the help...
Hi again. Can I upload text I already have and use Inkfluence to format into publish ready document for me? So all the TOC, and page numbering, page breaks, chapter page header design etc (a bit like atticus)? For the cover design, is it ebook only, or can this do paperback? And if so, how does this work with formatting guidelines? Does it automatically pull requirements based on text length &...

A: Thanks! Yes, you can import your own text and Inkfluence formats it into a publish-ready layout, TOC, page numbers, page breaks, chapter headings, title and copyright pages, for both ebook (EPUB) and print-ready paperback (PDF, with margins auto-sized to your trim and page count).
For covers you get both a front cover and a full wrap cover (front, spine, and back) as a print-ready PDF sized to...
Thanks. This sounds really good. Just so I fully understand and know which tier is best, if I want to upload text, does this still use part of the chapter allowance if I'm not generating it in inkfluence? So, formatting a 40 chapter book uses these? And if I upload a cover image (so not generating) but still use the cover generator for final cover and sizing etc.., how does this use credits?
Good question! Uploading and formatting doesn't touch your chapter allowance, that's only used when the AI writes chapters for you. So formatting a 40-chapter book you uploaded yourself uses zero.
Same with covers: uploading your own image and using the designer to size it and add text uses no credits. The cover allowance only applies when the AI generates a cover or image for you.
Hi there. Is there a rollover of unused credits/use limits? And if so how long is rollover? Thanks

A: Hi Eddie, your monthly allowances (chapters, and on Tier 3 the audiobook chapters and image generations) reset at the start of each calendar month, they don't roll over, so it's best to use them within the month.
The one exception: if you ever buy extra chapter credit packs, those never expire.
InkfluenceAI from Inkfluence AI answered another user on June 16, 2026 and said the app gives an AI title suggestion when you create the book (fully editable), and on publish it auto-drafts a sales description you can copy straight onto your KDP or Etsy listing. It does not generate KDP keywords or categories, though the title and blurb carry over fine. You can find that answer here:...

It shows up with an exported disclaimer that is not allowed inside KDP. You guys need to remove this. Thanks.

No keyword and categories for KDP?
