Q: Why Domain Lock
As far as I understand, domain lock will pretend us from embedding the video we have embedded on our domain, could not be embedded elsewhere, right? But hey, to embed Youtube Videos with killerplayer, they need to be "not privat" on Youtube. This means, everybody could embed the same video in just the Youtube style. Or is there something I did not know, that Killerplayer could prevent Youtube videos to be embedded elsewhere?
And whats the sense of CNAME just for embedded videos? As far as I understand, is your domain only listed/visible inside the source code, ain't it?

1. Domain Lock + YouTube videos
You’re right that YouTube content behaves differently. If your video is public, technically anyone with access to the video URL can embed it using YouTube’s default player.
However, if you set your video to unlisted on YouTube, it won’t be discoverable on YouTube itself; meaning no one can find or embed it unless you explicitly share the original YouTube link.
2. CNAME for embedded videos
It’s more powerful than just appearing in the source code 🙂
Using CNAME gives you:
• Branding: Your video links use your own domain (e.g., video.yoursite.com instead of a generic URL)
• Trust & CTR: Users are more likely to click and engage with branded video links
• Consistency: Keeps your entire funnel under your domain ecosystem
• Better deliverability: Especially useful when sharing links in emails or campaigns (less likely to look “third-party”)
So while it may seem subtle, CNAME plays a big role when you're sharing direct video links; not just embedding.
