Product complete? Missing out on real automation (but good for simple data presentation)
Let me start with the good: Local Rank Tracker offers clean visibility data for my Google Business Profile. The interface is simple, the metrics load reliably, and the tool makes it easy to see how you rank for different keywords across various neighborhoods.
However, I’m giving it two stars because the actual experience falls short of the expectations set on the product page. The listing promises “a solution that automates the busywork, so you can boost visibility and outperform the competition in the places that matter most.” AND: you can “get detailed insights on keyword performance and competitor strategies, so you can refine your approach and maximize your local visibility,” including:
- Track keyword rankings to understand your local performance
- Analyze competitor strategies for a competitive edge"
The tool does show keyword rankings, but once I see how I rank in different areas, I honestly don’t know what I’m supposed to do with that information. There are no keyword‑specific action steps, no competitor‑based recommendations, and no automated guidance that helps me refine my approach. The “busywork” of interpreting the data and deciding what to do next is still entirely manual. I also don´t see real strategies of competitors, but rather only how they rank.
What concerns me even more is the update from the product owner stating that they “feel like this product is complete.” Given the gap between the advertised automation and the current feature set, this is disappointing. The tool has potential, but calling it “complete” at this stage suggests that the missing actionable guidance may never be added.
I would love to see real automation in the future: especially keyword‑level To‑Dos, AI‑driven recommendations, and competitor‑based insights that translate the data into clear next steps. That would finally align the product with the promises on the page.
As it stands, it’s a basic tracker with good data presentation, but not the automated, action‑oriented solution I expected.
So currently, this product is a simple analysis tool, that shows you certain metrics. In that regard it works similar to Google Analytics, only focussed on your Google Business Profile. The information you receive is great, but you need to interpret yourself what to do with it.
So guys, please don´t stop here and turn this basic tracker into a real helpful GBP Guide!!!

Feb 17, 2026Thank you for your detailed and honest feedback. I genuinely appreciate your perspective, as it helps us see the product through the eyes of an agency owner looking for deep automation.
I would like to clarify a few points and show you that while the data presentation is "clean," we are far from being just a "basic tracker".
1. AI-Driven Automation & Actionable Guidance
You mentioned a lack of keyword-specific action steps. Our AI Agent is designed exactly for this "busywork". It performs a deep audit of your profile and generates a specific "To-do" list. For example:
-It identifies if you are missing specific keywords in your profile name to build a better local foundation.
- It flags NAP (Name, Address, Phone) inconsistencies that might be hurting your authority.
- It tracks "health" scores (e.g., 57% or 71%) and tells you exactly which 10/14 or 11/15 parameters need immediate attention to "green up" your map.
2. Competitor Insights
While you noted you only see how they rank, the tool actually allows you to monitor competitors to detect unauthorized changes or shifts in their visibility. We also provide a competitor position list, allowing you to see who is winning in specific areas.
3. The "Product Complete" Statement
When we say the product is "complete," we mean the core infrastructure (tracking, AI auditing, and reporting) is stable and fully functional.
We aren't stopping here! We want to turn this "tracker" into the ultimate GBP Guide you’re looking for. I encourage you to look at the AI Agent's task list again—it might already have the "clear next steps" you felt were missing.
