Just Did Not Work for Me

I purchased and downloaded ScreenToVideo and tested it out multiple times on a back-up Windows 11 laptop. Despite an unnecessarily clunky interface and very limited saving options (no way to save any recording as MP3 unless you go outside of Quick Record and experiment alot), I was able to save short videos of my desktop screen doing back work or recording very brief videos on YouTube just testing it out. However, when I tried to record a much longer Zoom webinar taking place live it simply puttered out with the video that was finally recorded being unwatchable gibberish - the woman talking for an hour and a half couldn't say a single word since the screen locked while she was talking and wouldn't play so no sound and just a frozen video image of her in mid-sentence.

When I tried to fast forward or rewind the video, it stayed locked. After trying multiple times, I gave up and accepted the video recording of the Zoom webinar was unwatchable. I tried again a day later after a replay had been sent and again, the same thing: screen freezing up, no sound, unwatchable.

For now at least, this only seems capable of recording very short, very simple videos and that doesn't serve any real purpose for me personally or professionally. I've read other reviews with others having similar issues, especially with the other recording methods so I don't think this is something I can use or would want to try using again.

Hi,
Thank you for taking the time to try ScreenToVideo and for sharing your detailed feedback — we really appreciate it, even when the experience wasn’t what you expected.
From what you described, it sounds like the recording mode used might not have been the best fit for your use case. ScreenToVideo includes two different capture modes, each designed for a specific scenario. The Application Capture Mode is intended for short recordings where maximum visual quality is important. This mode captures at a higher quality but also uses more system resources and generates larger files. The Video Capture Mode is designed specifically for longer recordings such as webinars or Zoom sessions and is optimized for stability over longer durations.
In both modes, you can adjust the recording quality and frame rate, depending on your system capabilities and needs.
After recording, the content should be rendered in the editor. Playback issues such as freezing or missing audio can occur if the recording has not been properly rendered yet, and the rendering speed depends on the performance of the computer.
Regarding audio export, there are multiple options. You can export only the audio object or the entire project audio directly as MP3 from the editor. There is also the option to record audio only, which is saved as .m4a.
We understand that your experience was frustrating, especially when trying to capture a long webinar, and we’re sorry the app didn’t meet your expectations in this case. If you are open to it, we would be happy to help you configure the optimal settings for your specific use case.
Thank you again for trying ScreenToVideo.
