Great for business research, not just developers
I’m not a developer; I used the hosted API for business research: prospect briefs on convenience-store chains and a dataset of 78 store, assistant and district manager job postings from 53 employers, all for under 200 credits. Map and batch scrape were the standouts, and one map call surfaced thousands of job URLs for a single credit. Watch two things: search scrapes every result unless you set scrape to false (my first search cost about 39 credits), and big-chain career sites (QuikTrip, Casey’s, Workday and Paycom portals) come back blocked or empty, while LinkedIn public postings, iCIMS and Greenhouse read cleanly. I also hit the same transient 502 on search, and brand missed the logo and real colors on a c-store site, so check its output.

Oct 29, 2026Thanks for writing this up. A review from someone using Webclaw for business research rather than code is really useful to us, and 78 postings from 53 employers for under 200 credits is a good use of map and batch.
You're right about search. It scrapes every result by default, and each scraped page costs a credit on top of the search itself. A single call returns up to 10 results, so it can cost up to 11 credits. If you only need the links, set scrape to false and it costs 1. We'll make that clearer in the docs.
On the career sites: Workday and Paycom portals load their job lists with JavaScript after the page opens, and some large chains block automated traffic outright. That's why they came back empty or blocked, while LinkedIn public postings, iCIMS and Greenhouse serve the jobs in the page. We're working on those portals.
The 502 on search and the brand result are both on us. If you email support with the c-store domain you ran brand on, we'll use it as a test case.
