Write any kind of book, with any model you like

  • Ground nonfiction in your own sources: add your PDFs and notes, and chapters cite them instead of making facts up
  • Stuck on chapter 12? Ask for plot twists, keep the one you like and skip the rest
  • Make picture books, coloring books and comics where the hero looks the same on every page
  • Write with Claude, GPT, Gemini, Llama and 100+ other models through your own OpenRouter key (Tier 3 and 4)

Get the notes a real editor would give you

  • An editorial letter written after it reads every chapter, with your book scored on 30 criteria for its genre and a list of what to fix first
  • Continuity slips caught, like a heroine renamed in chapter 9 or "two years" that turns into 14 months
  • Line edits that also proofread, and you accept or reject every change before it goes into your book

You asked for real sources. We shipped them (+2 more)

Hey Sumo-lings,

Mykyta here from AIWriteBook. And a new update we did today, on 28.10.2026.

I read every review and question on this page. Two complaints kept coming back. Nonfiction chapters had facts you couldn't check, and some were just made up. One of you called it "the research trap", which stung because it was fair. The other one: "I know my stuff, I just can't get it into a book."

Here's what we built for both.

1. Internet research for nonfiction

Before, the AI wrote from what it already knew. That's where the invented facts came from. Now it reads before it writes.

- Click "Research my topic online" on the Details step. It reads about 20 real pages on your topic. Give it a couple of minutes.

- You see every source with its title and link. Don't trust one? Delete it. Don't like the batch? Hit "Search again".

- Chapters are written from those sources, and the reference list cites them (APA, with URLs). You can click through and check every claim yourself.

- Sources don't count against your 10-file upload limit.

- Free on your first book. After that it's 100 credits a run, and if it finds nothing usable you pay nothing. It runs on our keys, so BYOK won't make it cheaper.

2. Expert Book

For coaches, consultants, and anyone whose book is basically already in their head. One rule: everything in the book comes from you. It doesn't invent anything.

- Throw in what you already have: PDFs, Word docs, slides, a YouTube talk, a podcast episode, a call recording, messy notes.

- Then it interviews you, but only about the gaps your material doesn't cover. Voice or text, skip what you want. Takes about 15 minutes.

- You read the start of chapter one before you spend a single credit.

- Unlocking a book costs 2,500 credits, once. Everything after that is included for that book: every chapter, rewrites, the editor, print PDF and EPUB, cover, KDP keywords and categories, metadata, marketing copy.

- No material of your own? Use regular Nonfiction with internet research instead.

3. Book Editor

It's out of beta. It reads the whole manuscript first, so names, places and facts match from chapter 1 to the end.

- You get a 30-point review for your genre, an editor's letter, and a "fix this first" list.

- Line edits and proofreading come in one pass. Accept or reject each change.

- Got a Word file from somewhere else? Drop it in at /app/tool/book-editor.

- The first page is free. After that it's 15 credits per 1,000 words, charged once per book. Re-runs on that book are free.

Most of this came straight from this page and the public roadmap (aiwritebook.com/app/public-roadmap). Keep the questions coming, I answer all of them myself.
