Big batch of updates just shipped, most of them straight from your feedback. The theme this time: more control over how your invoices look, and less manual work keeping them up to date.

Branding, all in one place 🎨

Head to Settings > Branding to manage everything your clients see: invoice and payment page templates, signatures, colour schemes, meta title and description, button styles, footer links, and favicon. Your Logo and Icon are now handled separately too, so each one is sized correctly wherever it shows up. Set a default template and colour scheme, turn on auto-attach for PDFs, and every new invoice starts out looking like yours.

Custom invoice prefixes 🔢

The fixed "INV" is gone. In Settings > Invoice > Prefixes you can now:

• Save multiple prefixes (BILL, PTR, your org initials, whatever you like), each with its own numbering sequence
• Set a default per workspace, or pick a different one per invoice
• Include dynamic pieces like year, month, or initials
• Set a starting number if you're migrating in from another tool

Changing a prefix later never touches invoices you've already sent.

Dynamic variables in line items 📝

Line item descriptions now support tokens like {month}, {name}, {first name}, and {year}. The big win is on recurring invoices: use {month} once and every cycle fills in the current month automatically. No more editing "January retainer" to "February retainer" every month.

Recurring invoices go a lot further 🔁

Big increases to recurring invoice limits across the board:

• Daily: 28 → 60
• Weekly: 4 → 52
• Biweekly: 8 → 26
• Monthly: 12 → 24
• Quarterly: 4 → 8
• Semiannual: 2 → 4

Weekly went from a month of coverage to a full year, and monthly doubled to two years.

A few more things shipped

• Downloaded PDFs now show the currency code alongside the symbol (USD $500, not just $500), so there's no confusion when your client's finance team deals with multiple currencies
• Custom domain redirect: send non-invoice pages on your domain to your homepage or marketing site instead of the default HoneyBill app
• Invoices now flip to Overdue automatically once the due date passes, so statuses and reminders stay accurate without you lifting a finger
• Download PDFs from any invoice state, including drafts, which is handy for internal reviews and approvals before anything goes out

Custom domains are live on HoneyBill, and Tier 2 users can use them starting today.

You can now connect your own domain or subdomain to host your invoice and payment pages. So instead of pay.honeybill.ai/invoice/xyz, your clients see invoices.yourbrand.com/xyz, fully yours, top to bottom.

Combined with brand removal, your invoice pages and payment flow are now completely white-labelled. No HoneyBill URL, no HoneyBill branding, no HoneyBill mention anywhere. Your clients see your brand from the email in their inbox to the moment payment clears.

This has been one of our most requested features, and honestly the one I've been most excited to ship. Custom domains sound simple on the surface, but doing them properly (scalable, reliable, no gotchas at the DNS layer) took time to get right, and I'm really pleased with where it's landed.

Small but useful one shipped today.

Attachments in the Share modal 📎

You can now drop files into an invoice email when you send it from the Share modal. Contracts, receipts, signed scopes, supporting docs — anything that needs to land alongside the invoice. No more "let me send that in a follow-up email" two-step.

A few sensible limits:

• Up to 10 files per email
• 10 MB per file
• 15 MB total across all attachments

The 15 MB ceiling keeps you safely under Gmail and Outlook's typical inbox limits once your invoice PDF and email body are factored in.

Heads up: this is Share modal only for now. AI Chat sends, recurring invoices, and reminder emails are next on the list.

Quick update on what's shipped since the last post — your feedback has been doing the heavy lifting.

SMTP is live 📬

Far and away the most-requested feature. Around 80–90 of you asked for it, and as of this week you can plug any SMTP server straight in — Postmark, SendGrid, Mailgun, or your own mail server — and send invoices and reminders through it. More control over deliverability, your domain front and centre, no middleman. You'll find it in your workspace email settings.

Recurring invoices stop breaking themselves

Changing an invoice status used to quietly mess with the recurring schedule. Marking something Paid could derail a whole series. That's fixed — status changes and recurring changes are now separate decisions, and you'll get a prompt before anything's touched. Reminder text and frequency are configurable now too, and when a series wraps up, you get an in-app notification and an email so you don't find out from your client.

The emails are fully yours

No HoneyBill mention, no HoneyBill footer, nothing. Client emails go out with your branding, your domain, your name. It should have been this way from day one.

A few more things shipped

• Invoices speak your client's language — set French, German, Spanish, whatever, and the labels switch with it
• Default currency and language auto-fill from your settings so you stop picking them every time
• Revolut is a proper pay button now, not plain text
• CSV downloads for invoice and time-entry analytics
• Generate invoices straight from selected time entries — no more re-typing
• Bulk import customers if you're migrating in

What's next

Proposals are up next, then deeper reporting. The vision is still the same — HoneyBill as the single platform freelancers use to run their whole client business.
