Q: Pattern of deals changing after purchase (e.g. LightX) — is vetting being reviewed on AppSumo's end?

I noticed a recurring pattern over the last 10 months: deals (like LightX) change into less favorable terms after purchase, often after the refund window closes. Curious whether founder vetting/sustainability checks happen before launch, since this seems to repeat across multiple deals.

Separately, some partners are slow or unresponsive on support tickets, and some stop maintaining or adding features post-launch. Just flagging as a trend, not specific to this deal.
Also curious about beta tester selection, it seems like the same testers get picked for multiple deals in a short window while others rarely get the chance. And the testing window changed from 24 hours to 100 credits (previously 200), wondering if that's reduced testing depth on recent launches.

Appreciate any insight into how these processes work.

A: Thank you for sharing your thoughts and concerns.

Just to clarify, we are not reducing any terms or benefits after purchase. The plans and features included in the deal are defined upfront, and we continue to honor the offering as advertised.

Regarding support, we understand how important timely assistance is. Our team always strives to respond within 24 hours whenever possible. LightX has been serving users since 2015, and we remain committed to maintaining the product and continuously introducing new features and improvements.

On the testing side, we currently do not use external beta testers for feature validation. Instead, our dedicated in-house QA team thoroughly tests features before they are released to ensure a reliable experience for users.

As for AppSumo's internal processes, deal evaluations, and partner selection criteria, those are managed directly by the AppSumo team and are generally confidential. Because of that, we're not in a position to comment on how those decisions are made. If you're interested in listing a product on AppSumo, we'd recommend reaching out to their team directly, as they would be best placed to provide information about their onboarding and review process.

We genuinely appreciate your feedback and your interest in understanding how these processes work.
