Q: BYOK on tier 1 and rich interactive fields
I’d also love to know your plans for interactive fill-in fields.
Having used TextExpander extensively and now Typinator, I've noticed a big difference in how they handle these. One major feature I really miss in Typinator (that TextExpander had) is "Optional Sections"—the ability to have a simple checkbox that completely includes or excludes a block of text when the snippet triggers.
For a power user, having rich interactive fields is absolutely crucial:
- Optional sections/fields (checkbox to toggle text blocks on/off)
- Dropdown menus (selecting one option from a list)
- Multiple-choice checkboxes (selecting several items from a list to insert)
- Radio buttons
And yeah please consider BYOK on tier 1.
If a lightweight native Swift version of Slashit had these advanced fill-in types, it would blow the competition out of the water.

Jun 30, 2026A: Thanks for the detailed feedback — we really appreciate you sharing your experience with TextExpander and Typinator.
We currently support user input fields in templates, and we’re actively thinking about ways to make these interactions more powerful. The ideas you mentioned — optional sections, dropdowns, checkboxes, and other richer field types — are great examples of where we can improve the template experience.
Regarding BYOK on Tier 1, we understand why this would be valuable for power users. At the moment, we don’t have plans to bring BYOK to Tier 1, but we’ll keep your feedback in mind as we continue evaluating our pricing and feature tiers.
Thanks again for the thoughtful suggestions — feedback like this helps shape Slashit’s roadmap.
