To confirm, when you say "Regular Voice Dictation" does that mean just transcription? Or does that mean some of the auto- corrections, changes in tone, intent, meaning, grouping, making lists, changes in math formulas, those kinds of things that you showed on your website? Are those changes also considered regular voice dictation? Or will those types of corrections and adjustments cost Al credits?

A: Hi sison2466, regular voice dictation includes polishing too, not just word-for-word transcription. Automatic corrections, tone adjustments, lists and formatting are free and don’t use AI credits.
I’ve been using Wispr Flow, and it has been excellent. It corrects my mistakes, understands what I’m trying to say—even when I stumble—and responds quickly. I speak, and the text appears almost immediately. I assume the speed is because the audio is processed in the cloud, but I’m not certain.
The main downside is the subscription cost.

A: Hi sison2466, I understand why speed and getting the intended wording right matter to you. Our AI features run online, but I need to confirm the dictation path on Android before saying which steps use your phone or the cloud. I also don’t have a verified comparison with Wispr Flow, OpenWispr or Amical, so I can’t promise equivalent speed or accuracy on your Pixel 10 Pro.
I'm currently using this software with voice recognition, but when recognizing Chinese, some characters that sound the same are displayed differently. Is there a way to create a custom vocabulary of the words I speak, so that voice input doesn't produce incorrect characters every time, even though the tones are the same ?

A: Hi chinsung, I’ll need to verify whether custom vocabulary is available for voice input on your device. Which device are you using? Could you share one or two examples of the Chinese words you intended and what Acti transcribed instead?
i use android vivo x300, example: my name 進松 , output is 勁松 ,These two have the same tone, but different fonts. Is there a way to create a custom vocabulary of the words I speak
Thanks, chinsung. I’ve added your Vivo X300 and the 進松 → 勁松 example to the report. I still need to confirm whether custom vocabulary is available for voice input on Android.
I’ve never used the custom vocabulary offered by Android voice input; it’s all in English, and I don’t quite understand the settings!! other example: 中興南路----中心南路 This is an issue that tends to occur only in Chinese, and I was wondering whether it could be customized to display what I want 中興南路
Thanks for the extra example. I’ve added 中興南路 → 中心南路 and your difficulty understanding the English voice-input settings to the report. I still need to verify Acti’s custom vocabulary support on Android before suggesting a setting.
I am writing to request the addition of Nepali (नेपाली) to your list of supported languages. It would be nice to have the language available for Transcribe and translate.

A: Hi raj182, our published language list currently shows Nepali for typing, but not voice transcription: https://openacti.com/languages/
I’ve recorded your request for Nepali transcription and translation, as well as a Nepali interface and content. I still need to verify the translation and interface coverage, and I don’t have a confirmed roadmap or release date to share.
I am currently using typeless app for transcription and translation. They do really good job in Cantonese colloquial expressions, spoken language, slang and mixture with English and Chinese in one sentence. Am I not sure how good Acti in that part?

A: Hi Kaman, I don’t have a side-by-side Cantonese test with Typeless to share, especially for slang and sentences that mix Cantonese and English.
Which device are you using? Could you share a couple of typical phrases and whether you want the output to keep the spoken Cantonese wording or translate it into another language? That would help us assess the specific result you’re looking for.
I am using iPhone and Mac. Actually there is a lot of slang. It is not possible to give everything here. I am not sure if you can find those databases for your AI to learn them. If I find good database I will let you know
Thanks, Kaman. iPhone and Mac, noted. You don’t need to list every expression here. I’ve added the Cantonese slang and mixed-language use case to our feedback, along with your suggestion about reference databases.
If you come across a useful source, feel free to share the link. I can’t confirm whether we could use a particular database or how it would affect recognition yet.
The Cantonese market is actually an overlooked yet massive one. I'm from Hong Kong myself, and local consumers have very high purchasing power. But right now, there is basically nothing on the market that matches the quality of Typeless. If you could build the same quality I'm sure plenty of people in Hong Kong would buy it, especially since Typeless currently cost $12/mth for unlimited use
That local perspective helps, Kaman. I’ve added your point about the Hong Kong audience and the value you get from Typeless to your feedback. Getting everyday Cantonese, slang and mixed-language speech right is the standard you’re looking for, and I understand why that matters more than simply listing Cantonese as a supported language.

Hi chinsung, a custom dictionary is coming soon and should help Acti recognise names and words like the examples you shared.
Give Acti a try, and if you have any requests, email me at g@openacti.com. We’ll work with you to make Acti work better for your needs.
